8th day of BACT Free day~~

Free day today~ Andria, Kim,Steven, Hulda, ShengYu, Vico, Jilling, Ben, Richard and I went to the FuLong beach and HouDong. It was soooooo hot and soooooo crowded at the beach that I did't really like it untill I saw those fine
sand sculpture. Every sculpture are so delicate and some of them are about 5 meter tall, which is quite amazing! The one I like the best is the one with Dragon! It's so different from other and it must be really hard to make the head. No wonder it won the gold medal !

Playing water at the beach is even more awesome! All of the heat just gone away! We swim, jump, flip and play with each other. Really had  a lot of fun! but when we went up, we felt so hot again. My feet definately gonna burn if I didn't wear a slippers.

HouDong is a little boring though... I thought it's going to be a lot of  cats there, but I just see a few.
Anyway~ we still had a lot of fun just by chatting with each other.

7th day of BACT

It was, again, my first time to go to the Museum of Formosa Aborigines and the National Palace Museum. Both of them are fantastic and the narrators are so friendly and nice, they explain every detail of the item which sometimes made us amazed! Besides, it is the first time I see the real "Jadeite Cabbage" and the "Meat Rock", but I don't know they are so small! because they always look so big in pictures~ Anyway~ I finally see it !
The lunch time was so nice, not only the food are delicious, but also we chatted a lot. I'm feeling we are getting closer and closer to each other~
At night, we went to 士林 night market. we ate a lot of delicious food. ShungYu was surprised that I haven been here before, but, hey, I'm not a "Taipeinese" and all the night market in Taiwan look the same and sell similar things, why "must" I go there? And I really should not go there, because I lost my wallet on the way! At that moment, I was like"Oh my god... not again..." although I had experience before and try to calm myself down, I still felt really upset along the way to the MRT station... then I met Jilling, Kim and Hulda, so we went back to the dorm together. Trully, I have to say, their sympathy, stupid dance, silly conversation and laughter really made me feel better. But, it was not untill my mom call me and said that someone had just found my wallet that I fully released.

6th day of BACT

Today is considered a quite relaxing day. We had a lecture about Designing experiments,  although the professor speak with an Japanese accent which is a little hard to understand, but he speak quite slow and gentle, and sometimes bent his knee when he emphasize a pint, which make it more easier to understand. And it's quite interesting and useful.
I still remember when I was graduated from high school, we went to YingGe Cramics Museum for our graduation trip. But,"luckily" we just select at the closing day of the month, so we only took a photos at the front door. And eventually I got the chance to go in today! which is wonderful inside~
Tonight, ShengYu and I accompany with the students who were taking Calligraphy class. We watched them "draw"at  first, but then we could't help but pick up a brush to"draw" too. Sheng Yu and I wrote our name and taught other people about the meaning of some words. And it's quite funny to watch them wrote their English name in Chinese words. What's even more funny is that Richard wrote B A C T in Chinese!(逼欸西踢)

After and hour, I fond out everyone had improve a lot! even better than my"drawing" ! which made me so impressed! At last, we took a group picture of our work. I have to say, this is the most interesting Calligraphy class in my life ever! awesome~!

5th day of BACT

Until now, I think today is the most tiring day! although I'm feeling better today, but still not fully recover, and my arms and shoulder are so sore whole day long, I don't know why(maybe it's because I lift heavy luggage on Tuesday). Beside, I haven't been hiking for a long time, so I was totally worn out after finishing the trek. but when we got to the top of the mountain, the view was so magnificent that all of my tiredness suddenly gone away. We took a lot of photos and eventually
Cristina Ken ShengYu and me

Hulda and me

went back to the bus.
despite of the exhaustion, I really had a good time today. First, I had never been to Beitou before, when I saw the volcanic landscape and the hot spring, I was so amazed and couldn't believe there is actually such a place in Taiwan! Second, along the way, teachers always stop at some spot and told us about the detail of an insect or a tree, which made this hiking a more educative and informative trip! third, I talk to other student more, and we really had a good time chatting with each other, especially tonight. We went to Alley 118 to have dinner, after that, we played pool at the dorm together. The funny thing was that, there was two Chinese, one Singaporean, two Hongkongese, two Taiwanese, we all could speak Chinese, but surprisingly we all spoke English during the game.(It means we all are getting used to speaking English~) Kim and Tian Chen came to join us after few hours, then Jilling started to ask about someone's girlfriend and boyfriend, then the" Love Story" topic started, everyone took turns to answer some question about his/her girlfriend/boyfriend, which is quite fun.

4th day of BACT

When I woke up this morning, I know there was something wrong with me. The fatigue from last night didn't disappear, and I felt dizzy, powerless and a had a little bit of headache...
Jimmy and I met at the dorm, and I took him to one of the most popular shop in NTU -- Cabin Muffin
for breakfast. Along the way, we talk about the soap opera in Taiwan(I usually don't watch it, but it seems to be quite popular in Singapore) and we found out a interesting phenomenon, Singaporean usually call their firend without surname, but Taiwanese usually add the surname even if we are close to each other.
The trip to National museum of Marine Science and Technology and Northeast coast intertidal zone was great! we saw a lot of peculiar fish and other animals, and it was my first time to grab a sea cucumber, the feeling was like grabing a baloon with water inside. However, I felt a little unconfortable along the way, so I did't talk much today and kept sleeping on the bus...... I hope it will be better tomorrow.

1st day of BACT

The day before the first day of BACT, Sheng Yu and I put a lot of effort on preparing the introduction PPT, in order to show good impression to all the students that were coming today. It was actually the first time I make a presentation to native speakers, which made me nervous before I stood on the stage. Strangely, I was not nervous during the presentation~! I felt everyone of you are so friendly, especially one of the professor keep smiling at me, which made me calm.
After my presentation, everyone took turn to make an introduction of their school and themselves. Everything they show us are so interesting, the schools are beautiful(more beautiful than ours) and the scenery and school activities are so different than ours! really impressive~!
At noon, Jack took us to the Taipei train station to have lunch. We were separate into few groups, I'm with Chen Hao and Zhong Yang, and we chat a lot during the lunch time. It's quite funny that Zhong Yang felt Taiwanese accent was cute(?!) but it's quite annoying that he kept imitate my accent = =
In the afternoon, we went to National Taiwan Museum. I have never been there before, so I was just as impressed as everyone else. And I'm quite curious about what other people think of Taiwan's history and culture.(Maybe I will find out at the following days)
A thunder storm and heavy rain suddenly occurred just before we were about to go to Chiang Kai-‐Shek Memorial Hall, thus we cancel the schedule and headed back to school, what a pity......
Getting along with students from around the country is quite special and interesting to me, and I've always dreaming of it. But I'm actually not an outgoing person, so it need some courage to start a conversation, and will probably take me a while to get use to it. I hope we will all become good friend for the rest of the days~

3rd day of BACT

2013/6/25
I'm totally exhausted after the whole day of courses, but it is great to have those lectures and night frog watching, except for moving my luggage to the new dorm this morning...

Originally, I thought it's just going to take me an hour to move all the stuff to the new dorm, but I was wrong after packing them up. Even I called my friend to help me, it still took me few hours and took almost half of my energy away, thus I miss the Farm practice experience(crop cutting), what a pity!!!

For the lectures, although I was tired, I sill tried to concentrate on the lessons. We learned geography, flora, and marine animals of Taiwan. And I found out there is  actually quite a few things and knowledge that I don't know, even I was born in Taiwan. During the break, I chatted with some of the members, it's quite interesting to know what they think of Taiwan, especially to know the differences in describing history  between  Taiwan and China. some of them surprised me~!

Night frog observation was awesome!  Tr. Lee was so skillful that he grab the frogs precisely and allowed us to have a closer look on them. Plus, the soun
d he mimic of the frogs were so alike! We saw about 7 kinds of frog and some other animals including toad, gecko, lizard, snail, and even a snake!!
We took a lot of photos on them as if they're celebrities~ But it seems they don't really like it, haha~ sorry for interrupting you guys~
Overall, it's a wonderful day, and hope all of you have a wonderful day too~!!
